The RO water international standards, formulated by the US. Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), are considered as the highest standards. AAMI has established strict standards for the quality of dialysis water, requiring that the total number of microorganisms in the water should be less than 100 CFU/ml, the conductivity should be less than 0.1μS/cm, the total dissolved solids should be less than 200 mg/L, and the heavy water should be less than 100 mg/L, the metal content should be less than 0.1 μg/L, and so on.
